Studio EMMI is a London based graphic design practice established in 2005 by Emmi Salonen. Internationally awarded Studio EMMI works with clients and collaborators on local and global projects; identities, marketing campaigns, digital media, exhibitions, environments, events and publishing projects.
Over the years we have helped businesses in the worlds of retail, commerce, culture, , academia and policy making, by championing messages for a better society, positive participation, sustainable design, heirloom quality and charitable causes. We create imaginative communication solutions for good ethical businesses, bringing measurable return on their design investment.
Emmi is the of the book Common Interest: Documents, and contributes to industry magazines on topics ranging from typography to women in design. As well as designing, she teaches at various universities based in the UK, and regularly lectures across the country and beyond. Emmi was one of the main stage speakers at AIGA’s Design Conference in , USA, in October, talking to an audience of 2000+ (see video).
Born in Finland, Emmi Salonen studied graphic design in the UK at the of Brighton. In 2001 she moved to northern Italy to work at Fabrica, Benetton Group’s prestigious communication research studio for young designers. She then worked for consultancies in London and at Karlssonwilker in before setting up Studio EMMI.
